I have been doing the Welsh course on the app and have been really enjoying it. I’m currently on the Orange-white belt.
Out of curiosity, I checked out the classic challenge course to see how it compares. It seems to me that it’s basically the exact same, however the time given for response is a fraction of what we have on the new course.
Does the response time on the app tighten up over time? Is there a difference in ability between those who finished the old course vs. those who have finished the new one?
Hi Michael - so far we’re seeing no difference in terms of ability by the end and/or any particular point in the course - what we’re trying to get right is the balance between being challenging and feeling too difficult, which not only varies between individuals but also tends to change over time for any given individual… so it’s a tricky thing to crack!
But the response time in app doesn’t always feel generous - I think by the time you’re a bit further, it should make you sweat more often - we don’t have a clear pattern in place, it’s just naturally a bit more challenging when you’re dealing with a wider range of language - but we are going to continue trying to fine tune this, and are already thinking about how to do that in the new app that we’re working on behind the scenes
