Sorry I’m late!!!

  1. Have you ever done anything brave/silly/embarrassing/amazing/memorable for charity and what was it? If not what would you be prepared to do?

  2. We were once the victims of a flood and had to move out late in the night to my sister’s house. If you suddenly found yourself the victim of a ‘natural disaster’ what are the 10 vital things you would grab from your home before leaving?

  3. If SSiW decided that everyone who completed the course had to be tatooed with something to show their new found Welshness - what would you chose and where do you have it?

  4. If the Welsh Assembly decided to have an alternative Welsh Royal family, which famous Welsh people do you chose to fill those roles?

  5. As a child I fondly remember my Mam making weekends special with such things as a favourite meal on Saturday nights with a can of Shandy Bass for me and my brother and Sunday tea in front of The Antique’s Roadshow - do you have any family traditions that make/used to make your weekends special?

When the tattoo technology becomes available, I want one of the dancing dragons…

Will have to do some research into which is the least painful site.

Given that I suspect the Welsh population wouldn’t take this terribly seriously, Max Boyce or Rhod Gilbert.

For many years, Sunday Lunch was always to the background of “Does The Team Think” on BBC Radio, with people like Jimmy Edwards, Ted Ray, Arthur Askey, and chaired by Macdonald Hobley.

If that wasn’t on, there was always some comedy or other, e.g. Ken Dodd, or “The Navy Lark”.
(Showing my age).

  1. A mile of burpee broad jumps

  2. 10?! Erm…sdim clem!

  3. A compass on my side…no idea why.

  4. Sara Elgan and Nigel Owens

  5. Apple crumble after a Sunday Dinner!

Is that ‘have done’, or ‘are prepared to do’?
Either way, rather you than me!

Have done. Took an hour and a quarter…never again

Attempted (and failed!) the Welsh Three Peaks with work, Yr Wyddfa, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan - it was horrenduous but def memorable as we picked a summer date only to find iurselves in an out of season atalntic storm. my feet left he ground on the Saddle near the top of yr Wddyfa, in the wind, I went A-over-T three times on Cadair Idris, had to stop the bus to throw up halfway between Cadair and the Fan and slept in the bus while the survivors set off up Pen y Fan at approaching midnight. We ended up giving a share of the money we raised to Mountain Rescue in addition to our original charity out of sheer karmic gratitude!

*The axolotol tank (might be a bit of an ask as grabs go - a bucket and the lotl himself maybe?
*Phone
*My paperwork folder, passport etc
*The aircraft’s paperwork
*Flying logbook
*Whichever book I was reading at the moment
*The box of “sentimental stuff” under the bed

I’ve run out.

“Dal ati!” or “Ymalaen!” or something of that nature. Somewhere that hurts least!

If the Welsh Assembly decided to have an alternative Welsh Royal family, which famous Welsh people do you chose to fill those roles?

Got to agree with Nigel Owens, and Nia Parry maybe!

do you have any family traditions that make/used to make your weekends special?

My mum’s awesome can’t-see-the-plate epically enormous Sunday dinner!

At school, I organised a competition to raise money for Oxfam in which pupils had to recognise current teachers from their baby pictures. Every one of the teachers, in handing over the photos, laid it on thick about how treasured they were. Anyway, at the end of the competition which raised a handsome sum, someone stole the treasured mementoes. I never found them and i never discovered the miscreant but I’m pretty sure it was someone who resnted my rigour as a school prefect. Needless to say, I was in deep doodoo.

My boudoir grand piano, my complete works of Dickens, my Sous Vide vacuum pump, the accompanying water bath, my Paco Rabane aftershave and that’s about it - oh - and my wife. (Middle class? - Moi?)

I’d weaponise myself to repel anyone who approached to desecrate the perfection of my body.

As the 28th great grandson of Hywel Dda, in all modesty, I’d expect to be anointed. Do you think Nia would agree to be my consort? :kissing::laughing:

My dad’s Sunday roasts were pretty memorable.

My daughter and I walked from John O’Groats to Lands End. She was 11 at the time and I took her out of school for her last term at primary school and about three weeks before we were due to start the charity wanted proof that the education authority had given their blessing to the enterprise. As this was certainly not needed and it was too late to walk for anyone else, we did it for ourselves.

No idea. We have far too much stuff in the house and part of me wouldn’t mind if it all went. The sentimental stuff can’t be replaced and the practical stuff is insured. We would have to rescue the pet snake though.

3. If SSiW decided that everyone who completed the course had to be tatooed with something to show their new found Welshness - what would you chose and where do you have it?

Draig, Welsh dragon of course. Left upper arm so it can be shown if wanted (I have a peacock feather on my right upper arm) but not inflicted on those who don’t want to see it. Or that beautiful map of the Welsh rivers.

4. If the Welsh Assembly decided to have an alternative Welsh Royal family, which famous Welsh people do you chose to fill those roles?

Aran and Catrin Llair? Wasn’t Aran referred to as a smiting demi god here recently? At least we’d have a Welsh speaking monarchy.

Cheese and tomato sandwiches fo Sunday tea, cricket on the TV.

I used to stand on street corners with a collecting tin - it was a big part of the social scene in my hall of residence in Aberystwyth, so it was either that or, you know, try to get a degree. I got a special award from the students’ union when I reached £25,000 (collected over 5 years). I sometimes wonder if it might have been a better idea to try and get a better degree…

My guitar and 9 plectrums.

After phoning someone to come and get the books.

I’ve room for another draig goch on the other shoulderblade.

Bryn Gwynfryn and Meinir Gwilym. It would be fun watching our own royal family dissolving itself to form a socialist republic…

Sunday breakfast.
