Started Lesson 6.1 (Course 1) today, and it’s kicking my butt in the best possible way I’m really enjoying it!
Also, a small victory I wanted to share:
I’ve been thinking in Welsh pronunciations! Whenever I see a word (road signs, publications, etc.) I’ve had a tendency to think the Welsh pronunciation of “ll” and “dd” BEFORE the English pronunciation (or Spanish, in the case of “ll”)! I’ve been doing it with “f” at times as well. It’s a small thing, but I’m very excited about it, as it’s definitely a step in the Welsh direction
Wow, you’re doing superbly! I just saw up to ‘butt’ on the preview, and came in here to apologise, because 6.1 is the worst lesson I wrote (apart from the original Lesson 6) - but if you’re beating it (and taking enjoyment from it means you’re beating it!) you’re doing superbly well…:seren:
Diolch! It’s all very exciting! And I want to say, too-- I’m currently learning a couple of other languages in addition to Welsh, and though I know I have a broader vocabulary in the other languages (at least at this point), I think I would feel more confident actually speaking Welsh (even now) because of the way this program works. So, a big “THANK YOU” for making such a great program!
German and Spanish mainly. I have lots of speaking practice available to me with Spanish (my husband and his family all speak it), and I know a couple af people that I could probably practice German with pretty effectively, but I need to actually be able to muster up the courage to do it, haha! I do want to try SSiSpanish, as I’m sure that would help me build the confidence I need to actually try speaking it. Dutch is also high up on my “list,” as well as Irish and Esperanto

Ooh, I’m so jealous! A lot of the work we’re doing on finding the most efficient materials to help strong intermediate/advanced learners use a language more naturally is driven by my entirely selfish desire to become better at Spanish without having to do anything nasty like hard work…
The new framework with Spanish (Level 1 will be published quite soon) might be challenging enough to have moments of interest for you - I’d love to hear how it goes if you give it a shot. And fingers crossed we’ll have stuff in all those others in the course of next year - I’m particularly keen to get Irish and Scots Gaelic myself…

…and I’m particularly keen to try out Irish Gaelic too! It’s the one other language (other than Welsh) that I really want to reach conversational fluency in.
So, another small update. I did 6.1 and 6.2 over the Course of about a week, and that turned out to be quite a good pace for me for those two lessons. I think they sunk in pretty well. I also did the Lesson 6 Bonus just a little while ago. It was fun and quite a challenge. l will have to do that one a few more times. Also-- is giraffe parking a common problem in the UK? Ha
I’m going to just keep using this thread for my progress, I think Anyone else who wants to chime in here is more than welcome to
If you’ve beaten the Lessons 6, you can cope with anything in this game, and nothing (apart from keeping on doing it!) stands between you and being a confident Welsh speaker…
Been a long time since I’ve updated, but I fell off the wagon for a while, and now I’m back in the game! I’ve been trying to work on a lesson every day, or at least every other day. I just downloaded lesson 16 (still on Course 1), and will be starting…that… NOW!
