Pontyclun: any one interested in starting a group?

Hi all, is there any one in the Pontyclun, Llantrisant, Llanhari area interested in meeting up on a regularly to practice their Welsh?

Hi John - great post - for the time being, you’ll probably want to come back and ‘bump’ it from time to time (and I’m sure Dee will stick it in the weekly email if she sees it) - I’m just posting to let you know that one of the main things we’re going to be focusing on in the coming months will be better support for groups and meetups - from helping find more people, to helping arrange things more smoothly and stay in touch as a group more efficiently - so although this new forum is currently no better suited to the whole meet-up process than the old forum, that will be changing…

Sooo…for the time being, do we use this forum for meet-up announcements or should we continue using the old forum until something is set in place?

Also, will we be having categories here or just the threads themselves determining the different subjects?

Everything over here, please! As soon as we’re sure nothing’s breaking, the old forum will go to read-only…

Categories - no, not as such, but we will be implementing a tagging system which we hope will be as useful…

I’m officially expressing an interest in moving to the Pontyclun area specifically to practice my Welsh…if it helps…

Now that’s what I call dedication! :seren:

Step 1 - I’ve seen this post. Step 2 - how do I link to it from the weekly email? I can see a URL to insert as a link like I did before, so not sure how I flag it.

Clunky for the moment - right click on the preview over on the left and open link in new tab (or save link as) and then use that. But I promise we’ll be adding some ‘make it easier’ stuff specifically for the email…

Aran: right click on the preview over on the left and open link in new tab

Yep, that worked! Diolch

Hi all, I started learning welsh about a year ago and had about eight lessons but sadly the class I was in came to an end. I would like to recommence learning and would like to here from anyone in the Pontyclun area who could recommend anywhere local that does lessons

Hi, Steven – Another strategy that’s worked for quite a few of us is using the SSIW lessons here, and then finding (or starting) a group in your area for practice and some laughs.

Hi All

I live in llanharry, pontyclun and would like to meet up. I have been learning with Ssiw since February 2013 and have been attending a welsh for adults class in llanharry since September 2013. There are new evening classes starting in ysgol gynradd Llanhari and y pant in September. I can only do evenings at the moment.

Hi Pawb

Any further suggestions by all of a possible venue to meet up and when within the local area?

Hi John I live in Pontyclun and go to welsh class in Pontyclun I would be interested in meeting up to improve my spoken welsh if the time and place is convenient.

Hi John,
I live in Talbot Green and would also be interested in meeting up to practise.
Anne

Hello -I’ve been learning Welsh for a while now and I’m really impressed with SSIW. I live in Llanharan though have a young family and am not currently able to get to any classes at the moment.
