Just watched episode 1 of Outlander on Amazon Prime; it had a fair bit of Scots Gaelic in it, and it sounded really great. Looks like it might be an interesting series.

I’ve heard good things about Outlander, and most people I’ve spoken to about it have been really excited about the amount of Gaelic used in the show so far. I think it’s great!
Outlander is great! (So are the first couple of novels, btw.) Not sure if you saw it, but they have a short series of YouTube videos called “Speak Outlander” where they teach a couple of words of Scots Gaelic. It’s nice because they have the language expert for the show host most of the videos, and then the cast repeat the words.
Also, I read an interview with the showrunners where it was explained that they intentionally don’t subtitle the Gaelic to help watchers empathize with the lead character being unable to understand the language and culture of the highlanders. I thought that was a nice touch.
