Helo pawb!
At university, I ate supper on occasion with a group of friends that had a tradition called “Most Exciting Thing”. Everyone had to go around the table and say one positive or exciting thing that had happened since we last ate together. It could be big or small, as long as it was something that brightened your day. Our Most Exciting Things ranged from being accepted to graduate school to managing to grab matching socks on the first try that morning to the discovery that the bulk section of the local grocery store sold the freeze-dried marshmallows from Lucky Charms without the cereal. I really miss this tradition and since I had a Welsh-related Most Exciting Thing today, I thought it might be nice to start it here.
I’m currently working on my résumé in preparation for applying to a new job. Going down through the job history, I did the standard tidying up: “Nope, they don’t really need to know I was a barista for a year…I’ll pass on hearing the joke (again) about how if all else fails I could make everyone in the office a nice cappuccino (even if it is true).” Then I got to the “Skills” section, the part where I list “Basic Spanish” under “Languages”, and it suddenly hit me that I have a new skill to add: Welsh! I got so excited I squealed while doing a happy dance in my chair (thereby scaring the bejeezus out of my snoring cat), then logged in here to share my excitement with y’all. Adding “Welsh” to my résumé is probably going to be my Most Exciting Thing for the whole week, if not month, and makes me feel incredibly proud.
And now I should probably go finish that résumé…
Hwyl!
