Me in the south

Just checking what I am hearing, if I’m hearing it correctly or not. This is in the Southern course three, lesson 10. “you heard me speaking” Am I hearing “Clywest ti Veen sharad?” Or is it “Clywest ti THeen sharad?” (Doesn’t a “d” sound soften to a “th” sound?)

“Fi”.
Pronounced as spelled in Welsh!
In English spelling, something like “vee”.

So maybe something like “Clywest ti fi’n siarad” by the sounds of it.

Looks like your hearing is fine!

Yes! That’s it. “Fi”. I think that might be the first time I’ve heard it in that context.

Diolch yn fower

Diolch yn ‘fawr’ a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda.

Diolch yn ‘fowr’ i chi! A blwyddyn newydd dda.

Diolch yn fawr. (I can’t spell in English either) A blwyddyn Newydd Dda!
