Languages should be spoken not just studied

In the i newspaper Saturday Mrs Mc Cabe co-director of Princes Teaching Institute said that the best language teachers do not follow pre-digested workbook aiming at functional phrase competence. If possible Students should travel abroad as a way of bringing the language to life.
To my mind this only confirms that the SSIW is the best way to learn to speak a language and local SSIW groups give confidence and help people become fluent.
If you live in England its not too far to travel to Wales.

Well that seals the deal then. We are planning on spending a few weeks over there in June, and I can’t wait to be able to speak to someone in person!

I’m a Welsh sepaker from Aberystwyth but I live in Caerdydd, if you’re going to be visiting this area let me know, I would be happy to meet for a pint of cwrw Cymraeg (as long as I’m free on those dates!).

Hwyl!

Sounds great! Thank you. I look forward to it!

Once you know where you will be, do be sure to check out the local “meetups” and perhaps get in touch with the contact person ahead of time to see what might be going on while you are there. The bottom map on the page of maps (https://www.saysomethingin.com/welsh/info/map) has most of the regular ones. Just zoom in until you can see the individual places.
