A series of SSIW lites. One for rugby, one for gossiping, one for cardiff city supporters and one for the swans.

A couple of five minute tasters, with voices of celebs and sports people.

http://www.bbc.com/cymrufyw/43725404 Looks like there are just over a million people interested enough to look at the Duolingo app (which makes one very good at remembering words but does not really teach you how to speak the language and so retention is, Iā€™m sure, low).

Imagine how many of these people would have the motivation to try SSiW.

How to reach them, of course, is the question. However there are already a few complementary comments in their forum about SSiW.

Iā€™ve seen a couple of mentions in passing that the exercises in Duo Lingo are populated by volunteers. I was quite surprised by this but if so seems in a way to present an opportunity. Does anyone know if this is trueā€¦and who contributes to the Welsh version?

And indeed one shouldnā€™t overemphasise them - theyā€™re mostly pronunciation differences, much less vocabulary differences, and hardly any grammar or syntax differences. :slight_smile:

Sut mae pawb. I love learning this beautiful language so much, I have been making Youtube videos where I speak and sing in Welsh. Am hoping it will help more people start to learn. I have found a lot of people intrigued, am hoping I pique their curiousity enough to follow me there and start to learn Cymraeg. :slight_smile:
