I save and manage all lessons on i-tunes on a windows pc and copy and listen to lessons on an old i-pod nano (version 4, I think). I also have a low-tech android mobile phone which I have used for nothing but phone calls to date. Does anyone know if there anything I can do with this kit to allow me to listen lessons at double-speed as Aran recommends?
If you grab a program called ‘Audacity’ for Windows, that should let you double the speed. Or if you do the new Level 1, the listening exercises are already sped up.

Rather than adapting the old listening exercises (which will never give you full coverage of everything you’ve done, because they’re pulled from the database at random) you’d be much better off using the already accelerated exercises in Level 1 (and soon Level 2) as Kev says.
The exercises themselves are better (scripted to follow a conversational flow more realistically) and as a bonus the acceleration is done for you
