Grammar, literal meanings and oops!

Anyone else hve a similar problem to me? I find (on Level 3) that my unthinking brain goes straight to literal word by word translations instead of the whole phrase eg: instead of codi twrw for making trouble i instinctively want to go to gnead …At the moment the only way I can stuff it into my skull is to work backwards, “ah, codi is used to get up, so its literally get up to trouble, so when he says make trouble i need to think get up to trouble” and so on!

Anyone else had this ? Any tips to avoid?

This is a) normal and b) inevitable

The only solution is to relax, notice the difference when you hear it, and wait for your brain to finish filing it correctly…
