I’m going to celebrate this evening as I have finally completed Level 3 today. I have enjoyed working my way through the levels so much over the past 12 months. I have wanted to learn Welsh for a long time, but despite a couple of abortive attempts many years ago, have never quite got round to it. Thanks to Say Something in Welsh, however, I’ve begun to realise my ambition.
I’ve learnt other languages either at school or through self-study, but I can honestly say that this is the best language-learning method that I have encountered. The structures of Cymraeg (well, most of them) have embedded in my memory quickly and I find myself thinking in this beautiful, dynamic language increasingly often.
I am looking forward to exploring the Advanced Content, but shall probably revise the challenges periodically to keep me on my toes! I try to read a couple of articles on the BBC Cymru Fyw website every day - this has increased my vocabulary really quickly - and to make time to watch stuff on S4C Clic that interests me.
SsiW is an amazing resource. It’s made both lockdowns vastly more bearable.
Diolch yn fawr iawn!
@judith-laity - many congratulations and well done! That’s such an achievement getting to the end of Level 3 - you should rightly be so pleased with yourself, and a celebration is definitely deserved! Sounds like you’ve had a whale of a time learning, too, and it’s fab to hear how much you’ve learned and your plans for building on what you can now do, as well. Don’t be a stranger, either - do keep popping in here as well as trying the Advanced Content and other parts of the site.
Congratulations again. That’s just brilliant progress. Take care, Stine
Congratulations - it’s an amazing journey and a great achievement. I can highly recommend the Amdani series of Welsh learner books and the lingo newydd magazine - both also great for extending vocabulary and learning current new words. Well done
Judith, that’s such a brilliant achievement - huge, huge congratulations! And thank you so much for your extremely kind words - it’s an absolute delight for us that SSiW has been so valuable to you
I would say ‘Just get off down the pub now and you’ll be fluent in no time’, but, er, yeah, that thing you said about lockdowns…
Well done! Can’t wait to get that far!
That’s interesting - thoughts in Welsh! I often wonder what language people think in that can talk more than one language!
