"find"

I’ve come across two different spellings for “find” in the Southern material:

“Ffeindio” and “Ffindio”

And 3 different pronunciations:

Ff-ayn-dio
Ff-in-dio
Ff-in-do

Is this one of those “use whatever you want” ones?
It always throws me if I don’t say the one the model uses at the time.

Thanks

This is very much one of those “use the one you like” situations

As Hendrik says - use the one you feel most comfortable with. You’ll definitely hear all three used widely across the south.

How about ‘dod o hyd’ or darganfod?

The main focus of the OPs question was the spelling and pronunciation of ffindio/ffeindio etc. Of course it’s perfectly fine to use dod o hyd i instead, with 100% overlap in meaning. But darganfod also has other meanings besides “find”, such as “discover” and “obtain”, so depending on context it might not be the best fit.
