Fideos am Gemeg a Blog Personol

Diolch yn fawr iawn Jon am ddweud hynny

I’m really hoping I can speak well and clearly when I go to Aberystwyth next month. I gave in an abstract for the Cynhadledd Wyddonol Gymraeg 2014, and now I’m giving a talk there on the 9th of June. Yn bendant, bydda i’n nerfus iawn! I have never been to Aber before either, so I am making a weekend of it. I hope the weather is good.

That’s seriously impressive! Pob lwc, although I’m sure you’ll do great. And Aber is a lovely place. Hope you enjoy it.

Here is another thing that I have wanted to do for a while and finally set up. A blog/news website thing.

I have only a couple of pieces there at the moment and I’m hoping to do more Welsh ones in the future… thinking of doing a review of that PC game that came out last year, Enaid Coll/Master Reboot.

Os oes diddordeb gyda unrhyw un, ysgrifenais i dipyn bach am y rhaglen Ser Cymru (rhaglen i dennu mwy o ymchwilwyr i gymru) ar fy blog.

Wrth baratoi am fy nghyflwyniad yn Aber, wnes i greu’r erthygl hon am fy ngwaith ar gelloedd tanwydd hydrogen (hydrogen fuel cells).

I had an amazing time in Aberystwyth over the weekend, went up Constitution Hill, visited Devil’s Bridge on the steam train and visited the National Library too. The conference on Monday was a very daunting experience but well worth it, I wrote about it here.

My face is everywhere!!! You cannot escape!

I have done a new video on my chem channel. I have been eager to get back to doing them as it’s been about a month since the last. This one is about the energy needed to remove electrons from atoms. I have also put the script on my blog to read. I’ll get the subtitles up soon. YouTube has recently added a way of adding subtitles that seems slightly easier than the way I was doing it previously.

Right now your face (and back of your head!) are all over the TV screen! I am watching Jonathan and can also see Cwmgoch Jonathan, me and the dau Dais. The five of us enjoyed being at the recording of the programme earlier this week.

I finally put the subtitles, Welsh and English, up for the video Egni Ioneiddiad Atomau. Been so busy lately but I hope to get back to doing more videos soon.
Also my Cyflwyniad i’r Atom/Introduction to the Atom has just reached 100 views

Thanks for including me in the most recent newsletter email. I have done a new video entitled Sbectra Allyrru Atomau/Atomic Emission Spectra and I’ll be sure to not take a month to put the subtitles up this time

Just a couple of updates.
1 - English and Welsh subtitles are on the newest chemistry video.
2 - I have put the text and pictures from that video on my blog here.
3 - I have a new blog post (in English) about the Moon landing.

:seren:

I have posted my first new chemistry video in a while. This one is a bit long and complex and took a while to make.
It’s all about atomic orbitals (areas of space around the nucleus where you are likely to find electrons).

There are now Welsh and English subtitles on the video above
I wish I could spend my time making more of these videos, rather than writing my thesis :frowning:

I have decided to move the blog for a couple of reasons here https://cemeg.wordpress.com/. One of which is because I’ve found out how to get the whole wordpress interface in Welsh. I have also decided to not do English and Welsh posts anymore and now am only posting in Welsh and focusing on the YouTube videos. I’ve transferred the Welsh posts over from the old blog.

New video! This one is about a different type of orbital, the p orbital.

Thanks for writing about my channel in last week’s email, the views shot up for that p orbital video!

It now has Welsh and English subtitles. Going to put a written version in the blog soon and write about my trip to Iceland, which was awesome!

One of my work colleagues went to Iceland recently and loved it so much she’s booked to go back again next March. It certainly sounds like the place to go, as long as there are no volcanoes due to erupt!

I’d probably go again, or somewhere like Norway. In the national museum there was a cross-section of soil where you could see black layers every time Mt. Hekla went off. It does make you think there is a good chance of getting stuck there if it does again
I wrote about the holiday and put some of the pictures on me blog. https://cemeg.wordpress.com/2014/12/03/gwyliau-yng-ngwlad-yr-ia/
