Having moved to another country when younger and had to learn a new language, I can certainly understand your disappointment.
Firstly, I would tend to agree with some of the replies above that no offence was intended.
But regardless of that, please let me be blunt: when learning a language you have to develop a thick skin concerning mistakes you make whatever the context, as I gradually discovered the hard way. Learning a second language as an adult is different from learning a mother tongue. For a mother tongue you’re totally immersed in it and you have no life responsibilities other than to absorb happily everything around you. That’s not the case for us! It’s never going to be as easy, and it’s far more positive to focus on what you have achieved, whether a bit or a lot.
