Sounds right. I think English would win a gold medal for this one, because there’s so many rules that seem to contradict each other, Or this rule always applies, except for this one random word that refuses to comply.

Was going to post something similar - Mother tongue English speakers here should be thankful that they’re not studying the language that is more exception than rule - English.
