For those who may need a bit of encouragement, you can take heart that, at this very moment, in the US, a tall black woman is tromping through the South Side of Chicago, in the early morning, muttering in Welsh, on her way to work.
It’ll be even more impressive in a few months, when you can add “slogging through snowdrifts.”
Love it!
:seren:
Yay, Cyd! I’m right there with you, except in the Financial District of San Francisco, where thankfully you have to do something much wilder than mutter to yourself in any language to get a sideways glance.
@Tahl: Ha! It’s almost not real practice unless you’re slogging through hip deep snow.
Also I will definitely keep you in mind, @Megan, especially when I’m discouraged…like today, when it feels like there’s still so much of Welsh I don’t know.

That means there’ll always be new treasures for you to find…
I’m still meeting new words in English, let alone Welsh…
Neidr cantroed, for example. And, I hope you don’t mind, but from now on I’m going to say that I’m still meeting new words instead of learning new words…I really like that phrasing.
