Has anyone had any luck getting Dal ati overseas? I subscribed to the YouTube channel but it doesn’t seem to have anything but old Hwb clips and trailers for Dal ati. The app is useless without the TV. But maybe I am doing something wrong?
Unfortunately, they do not allow streaming outside the UK, allegedly due to copyright restrictions and the fact that UK residents pay for their television, while outside the UK we do not. This despite the fact that 1) no one is trying to make money getting broadcast rights outside the UK to Welsh language content and 2) I and I bet many others would be more than happy to pay for access to Dal ati and other S4C programming. So much for the “free market” and the “world economy”!
Thanks Henry. It is odd that they went to so much effort to make Hwb available on YouTube and have even set up a Dal ati YouTube channel but there is nothing to show for it. That is more my puzzle than not being able to watch UK TV. Though, I agree, I’d happily pay an overseas watchers fee.
