Looking forward to starting my journey. Coming from a Welsh speaking family and not fully understanding the conversation is very frustrating so I am really going to push to grasp the language better. Diolch pawb.

Hello all, have come on here after learning Welsh on Duolingo on and off
Iām actually of Scottish heritage but love Wales, and Welsh is a LOT easier to learn than Gaelic, whilst still keeping the Celtic roots - first day was nice and easy (Dw iān moyn dysgu siarad Cymraeg), happy to be here!

Hi there. I am here to learn Welsh because I live in a mostly Welsh speaking village and although they always switch to English for me I would love to be able to speak with them in Welsh.

I was totally impressed when I read about Welsh Not. I was outraged knowing that this medieval treatment was applied in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is a historical victory, that despite so much oppression, the Welsh people saved their language.
