Completely baffled about "set ti isio" vs "os" - Level 2, Challenge 24

“You’d tell me if I needed to improve, wouldn’t you?” - Byddet ti’n dweud wrtha i 'se isie i fi wella, yn fyddet?

This is everyday southern Welsh for tasai eisiau i fi wella - if there were a need for me to improve.

“I’d tell you what we need to do, if I could” - bydden i’n dweud wrthot ti be sy isie i ni wneud, 'sen i’n gallu

This is everyday southern Welsh for beth sydd eisiau i ni wneud “what there is a need for us to do”

Does that help @MarilynHames ?

Perfect Deborah, yes, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much.

Being deaf/hard-of-hearing I fret over these things—some sounds disappear almost completely and I try to work out the pattern by going to grammar books

You’re welcome! And there will be everyday structures in our courses that don’t get a mention in a lot of the grammar books, though Gareth King is pretty good at covering all bases
