Chi vs Ti

Yn Aberteifi, dyn i’n byth defnyddio ‘ti’ yn lle ’ chi’, pan heb yn gwybod y person arall. Dwi’n gweithio mewn challenge 8 ar hyn o bryd.
Fydda i’n newydd i ‘CHI’ hwyrach mewn SSiW cwrsiau? Gobeithio

Yes, ‘chi’ is definitely introduced later in the course

Da iawn ! Dw i wedi gwneud o leia 11 mlynedd dysgu Cymraeg yn y diwetha. Ond, gwnes i feddwl bofi’n well da fi ddechrau o Uned Un. (You do realise that’s my best written Welsh don’t you? )

So galling when one writes in Welsh only for it to be replied by SSiW HQ in English :disappointed_relieved:

That’s because we don’t want to overwhelm new learners with lots of Welsh they won’t understand when they first start exploring the forum, so the official forum language - other than specific threads for practising writing Welsh - is English, or Welsh with an English translation.

What @siaronjames says is right - there’s an earlier post from Aran about it here (quoted below):
https://forum.saysomethingin.com/t/writing-welsh-on-the-forum-ysgrifennu-cymraeg-yn-fforwm-hyn/8832 and the thread he mentions for practising written Welsh is here :slightly_smiling_face: : https://forum.saysomethingin.com/t/be-dach-chin-gwneud-rwan-a-phethau-arall-yn-gymraeg-a-topic-to-practice-welsh-open-to-all/5832/827

Fair enough. It’s my first time on the forum in years. Kindly overlook this infraction.
I won’t be a regular.

There’s so much on the forum that it’s very understandable that you hadn’t seen that piece of advice before, so please don’t think of it as an infraction - and please do keep posting to the forum! :slightly_smiling_face:
