Hi everyone!
I noticed something in Challenge 2 and Challenge 3, and couldn’t bear the uncertainty any longer and wanted to ask if anyone can correct me.
So whenever I need to say “I (still) need to”, I say “ma (dal) eisiau i fi” (which I copied from the vocab list). This is fine (I think? ). But whenever an “and” is included, as in “and I (still) need to”, I say “a ma (dal) eisiau i fi” because I think that was how we said “and” when the next word began with a consonant. But I always hear “ac ma (dal) eisiau i fi” instead!
Did I get the “and” rule wrong? Or am I wrong with the “ac” thing and do both instructors actually say “a”?
Thank you!

No, you didn’t get the “and rule” wrong - it is generally ‘a’ before a consonant and ‘ac’ before a vowel, however “ac mae” appears to be an exception because something sneaky has happened.
In fully proper Welsh there is a ‘y’ before ‘mae’ (ac y mae), and although the ‘y’ is very rarely used now, especially in speech, the effect on the ‘and’ has remained.

Thank you so much for explaining this so clearly!
