Only this morning have I read any, and now have read all, of this thread, when I picked up that it was Cath, after recognising the photo. Just to say that you do live with a Welsh speaker! Kev has blossomed into a confident and competent siaradwr from his first visit to the Mochyn Du when he hardly spoke a word of Welsh.
As you learn new words and phrases you can just drop them in in Cymraeg rather than Saesneg, or as Aran/Iestyn said, designate a small part of your day to a Welsh exchange. We used to go out for lunch once a week and I would try to stick to the dim Saesneg rule while we ate. Very difficult the first time, but gradually it gets easier and you learn new vocab too.
