After a bit more searching, it looks like I can actually listen to it live (on the browser):

It’s the archive that’s blocked, apart from the podlediadau - so it seems!

I might be a bit late here but this is how I use it on my iPhone in Germany. (And now in the USA whilst on holiday)
Listening to Radio Cymru
Get the BBC App, this is the one with black background and the 3 white boxes with the letters BBC in black inside.
Open up the App, go to the bottom of the screen and select Audio. Then go to the top of the screen and select the rightmost submenu „Audio FAQs“. Scroll down that page and you‘ll See all the links to BBCs national and regional networks including Radio Cymru.
Podcasts
On the same app go back to the home screen and at the bottom select „More“. This opens a search box, enter the Word „podlediad“ and you‘ll see the Welsh Podcasts.
Hope this helps even though I have repeated Information from other members.

Hiya Deborah - sorry for the delayed response but I’m only just back from the maes. I don’t have any insider info on the BBC, I’m afraid, but it sounds as if you’ve found a workaround in the meantime?
Dim problem! I hope you had a great time at the Steddfod and your session went well. Yes, it looks like we’ve found the way in to listen to Radio Cymru live - a bit of faffing about, so not as easy as BBC Sounds, but at least it’s possible.
It doesn’t seem that long ago that they launched BBC Sounds! Fingers crossed this will keep working!

Diolch for everyone’s help. It is a great pity there is not the selection on BBC.com that is available on BBC Sounds (including Llyfr Glas Nebo that is/was on BBC Sounds in both Cymraeg and Saesneg). However, there is a new Welsh language podcast available on BBC.com. If it does come up when one types in ‘podlediad’ it must be hidden within the depths of past programmes, so type in the name: Dim ond Geiriau’. I haven’t tried listening to any more than the first few seconds yet (just wanted to ensure it did in fact work!). It is hosted by Francesca Sciarrillo and Stephen Rule (Dr Cymraeg).
