Mines to spend less waking hours learning Welsh.
Spend more waking hours learning Welsh
Find ways of using sleeping hours for learning Welsh.
Stress less about what I haven’t learnt and enjoy what I have.
Keep on keeping on.
Making better use of Tube journeys to work by carrying on learning Welsh
Targets always help so I need a target. This year my target was to use SSIW resources regularly and I think I can say I have done so. I think writing more in Welsh would help so I think that will be my adduned blwyddyn newydd.
Get Level 3 Welsh finished
To actually finish level 1 (new), and find myself thinking more in my heart-language (Welsh) and my working language (Inuinnaqtun), hence less in Saesneg.
Hmm, I think this is the year I’m going to have a crack at the SSiSpanish course, doing one intensive day a month; relevant to this forum because I’ve just about decided to start with the Cymraeg version. Predicting catastrophic failure. Can only go up from there!
To address every single person I meet while in Cymru, through Cymraeg. Da iawn
Mine is to become fluent this year (it has been for the last 3 years!) and greet everyone in Welsh when I can. I have managed it twice today and wished them Blwyddyn Newydd Dda. I have joined a Welsh class and that gives me two hours to try out speaking. As the tutor says he has heard great things about SSIW I feel I mustn’t let you down! Usually when I say my piece none of the others understand because my vocabulary is greater. One girl asked if I carried a dictionary in my head, so I don’t usually answer questions until the tutor turns to me! It has helped a lot and they are all very friendly - gets me out once a week too.
Blwyddyn Newydd Dda I gyd.
Greeting everyone in Welsh might not work too well in London
I am going to try to go to some of the meet-ups so I can practice speaking. Scary thought but hopefully it will be good fun
It will be good fun and you’ll find yourself coming on in leaps and bounds, Jenny - though initially it might not feel like it.
Scary at first, but exhilarating as well!
