Five years this very day I came across, SSIW…Amazing!!! Few frustrations over those years but a lot of laughs…
Thanks for sharing some of these laughs with me, Kim! A llongyfarchiadau mawrion mawr!
Its a great story Kim, and 5 years is such a short time. I am only half way through that time, and if I can achieve what you have in another 2 1/2 years I will be so pleased. You have every right to be proud! And those laughs are key aren’t they?
Hwyl,
Stu
llongyfarchiadau
and I’ve enjoyed sharing some of those 5 years with you Kim in Tresaith and surrounds and over the interweb.
Llongyfarchiadau, ychan
I checked on wikipedia to see what an appropriate tribute would be for your fifth Jubilee as King of the SSiW learners, and apparently it is “wood”. Well, well. Exciting.
Congratulations on your Wooden Jubilee!
Well, if it is appropriate to give a reigning monarch a related gift as tribute (-no idea if that just traditionally relates to marriage anniversaries, I just want to make it clear this isn’t some sort of proposal-) here is a picture of a stick for you -
I will keep it safe in the hopes I can present it to you with due reverence and ceremony in person some time.
Diolch pawb! Thanks, Owain -
Penblwydd SSiW hapus iawn iawn i ti, Kim!
Almost as old as the course itself…
Hard to think of you being anything but a Welsh speaker, Kim! Funnily enough, I was speaking to another Kent native in Aberystwyth on Saturday, who speaks Kent Welsh just like you. I’m not sure where he’s from in Kent, but you’d definitely enjoy a chinwag!
Talking of Kent Welsh reminds me that at a historical talk I went to yesterday about a part of my (Oxfordshire) town as it developed through the ages, the speaker referred to the pre-Roman era and the “Welsh speakers” who were here before the Romans came.
A slight over-simplification perhaps, but it reminded me that Welsh (or something very like it) is as much a part of my heritage (and many others, even if they don’t realise it), as those who regard themselves as Welsh, even if it’s a more distant heritage. And another reason to learn it (if anyone needs a reason).
Llongyfarchiadau Kim!!!
Everyone has said everything original, but wanted to add my congratulations
too!!
